Who is Gecko Moria in One Piece series? Gecko Moria is the the leader of the Thriller Bark Pirates and also the former member of the Seven Warlords of the sea who lives in the largest ship in the globe. His bounty was 320,000,000 but unfortunately got reduced after he was defeated by Monkey D Luffy as well as lost his warlord position. Back in his youth, Moria was the captain of the Thriller Bark Pirates. However, he lost majority of the members when fighting with Kaidou of the Four Emporers. From that moment, Moria started to revive death with the help of his subordinate Dr. Hogback. 

Gecko Moria Seven Warlords

Even after defeating Moria by Straw Hat Pirates. Out of no where, Tyrant Kuma shows up and creates trouble to Straw Hat Pirates by making a deal that he will spare every member of Straw Hat Pirates if they listen to him with a condition that is Kuma says he wanted to have Luffy's head in return. Likewise, even Zoro gets easily defeated by Kuma. Thus, Tyrant Kuma is obviously stronger than Gecko Moria though both of them are one of the Seven Warlords of the sea. To conclude, yes Kuma is superior to Moria.

Nevertheless, Gecko Moria is kind of stubborn character and cruel because Gecko Moria never showed any mercy upon his opponents while battling with him. For instance, he doesn't even care about other people's lives. All he does is steal people's shadows and upgrades his innovations which is only to create multiple zombies ultimately making them his subordinates which is really uncool to think about it. Even Brook one of the Straw Hat Pirates lost his shadow to Moria and suffered a lot to get back his shadow because those people who lost their shadows didn't have any chance to survive especially under the sunlight. 

Tyrant Kuma and Gecko Moria 

However, Luffy comes to know the facts and cruelty of Moria and then he decides to kick Moria's butt for his brutality. Luffy works hard a lot to bring Moria down since Moria had incredible power to steal shadows and make use of its power. Indeed, Moria uses shadow power ten times greater to Luffy only by abstracting 1,000 shadows where he turn himself further into a gigantic humanoid but he had weaknesses for his power just like Luffy's Third Gear where Luffy gets enormous strength but very slow in terms of mobility. 

Moria Before Unleashing his Shadow Power

At the end of the Thriller Bark Arc. Luffy defeats Moria by pushing himself by using his Second Gear power which was not enough for him to rescue the thousands of shadows out of his mouth. So, Luffy uses his Third Gear power to spill out all the shadows within Moria's body. It was quite surprising to see the brutality of Moria. However, Gecko Moria gets defeated by Luffy and even Luffy gets back his shadow along with other 999 shadows which was stolen by Moria for his own benefits before the visit of Straw Hat Pirates in the  Thriller Bark.
